Scripture: Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
(1 Peter 3:3,4)
Observation: I'm fairly young in life. 21 is the age where one becomes a true adult, at least by today's standards. This scripture describes exactly what I look for in a girl. Yeah this observation is a little selfish in a way. But I think with all the flash and glamour that Hollywood tries to portray to woman, that it's easy to get distracted from what's in front of you. It can cloud you to what you should look for in a partner.
Application: I need to not be enticed by the glamour of society these days. I must look deeper within a person and see the beauty they hold within their hearts. Only then can I truly decide whether or not I want to spend the rest of my lives with them. There's a situation now in my life where I can't decide whether or not to pursue someone that I find attractive. I've done my best to get to know her, and I feel she is of pure heart. I want to believe that but I have to try and remain objective because it could be all an illusion.
Prayer: Dear Lord, I ask that You guide me in the affairs of the heart. I've done things so blindly before that now when I feel it really matters, I really wanna make the right decision. I ask that You show me what I should do. Give me Your wisdom and patience to help me find the right life partner for me. The person You have made for me, and the person You have made me for. Amen
